Project Model: Nicole D. & Jade D.

Happy Almost Halloween!

What a delight these two young ladies were to work with. Jade and Nicole are sister-n-laws who are both in their mid-twenties and hired me to do some unique, festive images of them... with a bit of a "dark twist." Talk about about having some Halloween FUN!

Wow, I sure did have my hands full with this spunky duo. In a good way, of course! They had lots of ideas, a couple of outfit/make-up/hairstyle changes and lots of neat accessories. Both ladies enjoy artistic images and have worked with me before. For their Project: Model concept, they were first inspired a little by an America's Top Model episode whereby models ratted out their hair and even wore cat eye contacts (which Jade actually purchased.) Nicole was all about trying out funky eye jewelry/designs, stripes of hair color, and fairy wings. In addition, they both enjoyed the concept of using costumes for the Halloween season. It was a little like working with good vs. evil. :)

I did the shoot at Jade's house, mainly using a black background and natural window light for about half of our images. The remaining captures were taken outdoors with full natural light. It was only about 55 degrees that day... but both ladies did awesome. On site was, Shannon G., the make-up artist and Susan D., who did hairstyling. They were both super sweet and so helpful. What a nice treat! Our shoot lasted nearly 3 hours- these are just a handful of my favorites of MANY, many images from our time together. I will admit to cracking up on MORE than one occassion on this shoot. Making "mean" faces will do that to me everytime. It was so much fun. We were able to get some less "dark" images in, too. Can you say Halloween hotties?! ;)

And, of course, I had to get in a few shots of the fabulously wicked details....

Thank you Nicole and Jade for allowing me to be a part of this really cool Halloween memory making experience with both of you. You are both beautiful on the inside AND out. It is always a treat to work with you ladies. Your slide show will be ready in full tomorrow, I will send more details to you very soon. I can't wait for you to see the rest!!!!

Project Model: Chelsey R.

I had a fabulous time yesterday afternoon with a beautiful young lady from SE Michigan named Chelsey R. She was eager to become a part of Project Model despite the fact that she didn't exactly consider herself "overqualified as far as modeling experience" goes. Well, she could have fooled me- I knew from the second I saw her face that she would be a fabulous model.
Can you say "rocked it?" We actually met for an outdoor shoot in the rain (which I never do). We were thankful for our umbrellas and even more thankful that the rain let up about half way through our time together. She was such a great sport- she even trudged her way down totally wet muddy paths in her colorful heels. LOL!
Chelsey is a very high energy, artistic, liberal, kind, and fun person to be around. She is also a graduate of Specs Howard School of Broadcasting and has an interest in photography. She wanted to do a shoot that represented who she was as an individual and I think we accomplished that very well.
Check out some more of her pictures below:
Thanks, Chelsey, for being such a terrific and gorgeous model. I cannot wait for you to see the rest- there are sooooo many more. I have NO idea how you and yours are going to choose. I will have your complete slideshow done within the week and look forward to working with you again in the future.

Project Model: Jeff S.

I had the chance to work with an up and coming 21 year old model, Jeff S., this Monday. He has a great look, doesn't he?? Plus, he was lots of fun on the shoot!

We worked together to develop close to a dozen new images for his port (modeling portfolio). He works, models, and goes to college locally. In addition, he has a deep appreciation for black and white photography, fashion, fitness and editorial work.

Below are some of my favorites from our session together.

Jeff was a real trooper, especially in the unusual heat (and that wool sweater of his!) On top of the hot & humid day we were in a spot that was literally swarming with bees. Of course, he waited until AFTER I snapped several DOZEN pictures to let me know he was allergic. OMG!!! Thank goodness he wasn't stung. ;) Whew!

We were fortunate enough to be able to hit a couple locations so that he could obtain images with more of an edgy urban feel, along with some nice nature backgrounds provided by a local park. Showing his diversity was really important to him and I think he did a super job with it.

Thank you, Jeff, for getting in contact with me and for doing a wonderful job with Project: Model. Best of luck to you in the future- I look forward to hearing from you again. :)
